For the Alémais Resort ’27 Show All The Cool-Girls Went To Menorca

Nestled among the trees on Menorca’s Illa del Rei, something rather spectacular took place. Perhaps we were lulled by the ‘Mother Energy’ of the Balearics or charmed by Martin Creed’s balloon-filled art installation currently housed in the island’s impressive Hauser and Wirth gallery. And no doubt we were hypnotised by the turquoise sea and the historic architecture of Piet Oudolf’s whimsical gardens that provided such a stunning backdrop, but it was the Alémais’ Resort ’27 show that was the real moment.

Despite having only existed since 2020, Alémais has already carved out a space for itself in the strong summer brand pantheon; it has become pretty easy to spot a fan in its true print-maxxing style, helped along by the label’s dedication to artistry and collaboration. This season was no different as it welcomed Menorcan-based, multi-disciplinary artist Sophie Wahlquist into its maximalist midst - treating fabric as her canvas for texture, structure and colour. Silhouettes also mirrored Wahlquist’s ornate ceramics that dressed the show setting.
