Newchild Books announces the book launch of starlight beneath the wavy leaves on the occasion of Cheung Tsz Hin's first solo exhibition at Newchild Gallery.
The exhibition starlight beneath the wavy leaves presents a survey of artist Cheung Tsz Hin's recent works on the occasion of his first solo exhibition with Newchild. The hardcover monograph is Newchild’s second publication, and it provides a close look at his paintings and photographs as well as a series of handwritten poems by the artist.
Published by Newchild Books in collaboration with Hopper&Fuchs, the book’s intimate format and full-bleed images convey both the incredible detail and sweeping visual richness of Cheung’s works, a product of his world as a constellation of shifting sensations. Heavily illustrated with a selection of works on canvas and paper, installation views of the exhibition, and portraits of the artist, this book captures the myriad elements included in the artist’s environment and inspirations.
This book includes a writing by the gallery founder Diego Castaño and an essay by curator Chloe chow, as well as a dialogue with the artist by curator Jims Lam.
