The idea of toxicity is particularly overwhelming today, when we think about politics, climate change, the backlash of a strong authoritative and oppressive atmosphere that shows a consent for hatred and death, symbolising the global self destruction of humanity closing itself on a dystopia based on technology and consumerism, as if there was no other alternative possible.

The crazy acceleration of our rhythms in our lives on many grounds, work, relationships, interests, create a deep fragmentation that leads to a kind of schizophrenia, or "dysphoria", as the philosopher Paul B. Preciado enhanced in his last book : a loss of sensibility, anesthesia, and on the one end, radical expressions of emotions without any time to think and digest.

This time, Untitled Space is thrilled to welcome artists that are so relevant in Onomichi : Ai Kinoshita, Alberto Miani and Daniel Silva, who will make a collective exhibition based on the idea of delirium, on a creative, political and philosophical point of view.

"Delirium" which comes from Latin, means to be deranged. This exhibition will focus on three things :

- the madness and paranoia created by a pathological world, for instance through the video work of Daniel about zombie ants that are contaminated by mushrooms. To render the contemporary hybridity and fragmentation, he will create a power of disruption through organic experiences by exploring the boundaries between insects and human species, through a 3D printed hybrid mask created by Andrea Samory.

- Ai will reverse human freedom into potentialities created by ants and the cosmos around, made of void. The question she raises is : are we not submitted to the outside and deprived of any control on the earth ? The delirium in the world today would be thus an image of a humanity doomed to wander without knowing where it goes (the ship of fools).

- Alberto will question the authoritative power of language, a concept that actually comes from the Western and Greek concept of logos (meaning both reason and language). Just like the invention of Greek democracy through language and rationality coexisted with slavery, so the utopia of Internet has led to a dystopian contemporary world of domination, where everything seems to be controlled, computational, losing the mystery and irrationality of physical experience. Here, Alberto will explore the blurring of boundaries between culture and nature, for instance with a work showing the synthesis of human spine and trunk.

So we invite you to discover the concept of Post-Synthesis : an epistemic rupture where synthesis is no longer stable or teleological process but an entropic field of generative tensions.
