Bryan Ali Sanchez paintings address the effects and hardships of belonging to a working class community. He explores moments between stillness and tension. He achieves a blurred, ephemeral quality in his paintings through a range of paint application, and color combinations which emit a sensorial quality. His practice engages in a dialogue between past and present which reveal a fragmented understanding of two halves reflecting each other based on family history and childhood along the U.S-Mexico border.
Bryan Ali Sanchez received his B.F.A from California State University Long Beach, Long Beach, CA in 2019 and his M.F.A in Painting and Printmaking from Yale University School of Art, New Haven, CT in 2023. Recent exhibitions include Recuerdos de Horizonte, Baert Gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2025), Siempre Presente /Ever-Present, Albert Projects, Los Angeles, CA (2024); A Breath on Glass, Spurs Galley, Bejin, China (2023); A Signal Urgent But Breaking, Perrotin Gallery, New York City, NY (2023) and Otra Noche en LA, VETA Galería, Madrid, Spain (2023).
